Inspiration
In Solomon’s sculptures you can see a magical transformation of form and structure into ideas and feelings.
There is a search to find the lines that integrate an all embracing universal harmony.
Elongated lines and curves of grace, sensuality and purity are shown.
Smooth, pure perfection.
Rough stones, textures and irregularity of form are used where the signs of life are still undefined and are not yet clarified by time and evolution.
The surface and structure of the works dance together intrinsically knowing that the sacred object has a science of placement and that it is this very understanding that indicates towards its interior proportions which are held as a mystical truth - a secret to be discovered.
Much inspiration is drawn from geometrical, mathematical and botanical research; this imbues the sculptures with a life and spirit of their own, which also presents both a solid and changing rhythmic space.
These objects transcend the forms of nature. They are pared down to their purest form, to find the true essence of the object. It is only when presented to the viewer, is the work truly revealed as each individual’s own personal experiences and history define exactly what the work presents. The work stands naked before its audience, it is the viewer who completes and truly defines the works.
